David Smith, Pastor

I married Denise Gray 37 years ago and together we have two adult children and two grandchildren. I hold degrees from Campbellsville College, Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion, and two degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I began pastoring Creek Road Baptist Church in August of 1998.

Joy Chadwell, Worship Leader

I came to Creek Road Baptist at the invitation of some friends when I was in college. Everyone was so friendly, and I immediately knew I had found my church home. I have held several different volunteer positions here, including young adult Bible study teacher, choir director, and praise team member. I am a mental health professional by day and a musician by night (so to speak), having two albums to my credit. I currently serve by leading worship. I hope you will join us for worship this Sunday. I look forward to hearing you lift your praise with us!

Karen Turner, Treasurer

I became a Creek Road Baptist Church member in July 2018 and began serving as Treasurer in December 2019. In this position, I manage the church’s day-to-day accounting needs and prepare reports to keep the church updated financially.

Jim Gooch, Custodian

I am a Charter Member of Creek Road Baptist Church, moving my membership from Blue Ash Baptist Church. For over twenty years, I have served the Lord at the church in the capacity of Custodian. I retired from General Motors, Norwood Plant in 1978. Nola and I were married on June 16, 1978. We enjoy precious time with our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Don Renner, Chairman of the Deacons

I am Chairman of the Deacons at Creek Road Baptist Church, where I am a Charter Member. I was ordained at Blue Ash Baptist Church on March 22, 1981. Additionally, I serve the Lord by running sound and recording the morning service. My wife, Kathy, and I were married in 1978. Our son, Jacob, is married to Maeve. They live in Loveland, where he works from home for a company that does virtual care for many large companies’ networks. Maeve is a unit manager at a nursing home in Loveland.  Our daughter, Joanah, is a psychologist practicing in Florence, Kentucky.  At the end of 2018, I retired from a forty-two-year career as an auto technician.  Kathy retired from teaching in 2013 after thirty-six years.

Alan Barker, Deacon

I am a Charter Member of Creek Road Baptist Church, moving my membership from Winslow Park Baptist Church. As a young man, I was ordained as a deacon at Summit Baptist Church in Ashland, Kentucky. Currently, I also serve the Lord as the Senior Luncheon Coordinator. I am retired from the technology field. Three of my greatest blessings are my adult children and their families: Chris and Allison; Corey and Danessa; Paige and her fiancé, Matt. Some of my favorite things are my grandchildren, computers, and space. Each of these fills me with an awe of God.

Jerry Teegarden, Chairman of the Trustees

My wife Laura, daughter Mollie and I moved to Deer Park, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, from Brooksville, Kentucky in 2015. We made Creek Road Baptist Church our church home in 2017. Since 2019, I have been serving the Lord as a Trustee. I became Chairman of the Trustees in 2021. Sharing a chuckle or laugh with an old or new friend is my signature expression of God’s love for us all. I retired from full-time plumbing and electrical work in 2015.

C.W. Bourne, Trustee

I became a member of Creek Road Baptist Church in 2013. Since 2016, I have served the Lord as a Trustee of the church. I am also the Senior Adult Sunday School Teacher. One of my great joys is studying God’s word, the Bible. Another is ministering to others through prayer and action. I am a retired over-the-road truck driver who cherishes my family and loved ones.

We are saddened to announce that our church secretary, Karen Monahan, went home to be with the Lord in August of 2022. She was a charter member of Creek Road Baptist Church, moving her membership from Winslow Park Baptist Church in 1996. She served as church secretary for 30 years while also filling other important roles within the congregation. She was especially fond of the church music ministry serving in the choir, and as the main pianist for many years. She will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and all who knew her.
